Plant Operative ( Days) – Tilbury
We are seeking to recruit a plant operative at our wood recycling site in Tilbury.
In this role you will contribute to the department by decontaminating and sorting wood products manually, supporting the operation, assist with maintenance of all site equipment and general housekeeping.
Key Responsibilities
Preparation
- Ensure understanding of the daily production plan, your duties and where you fit into operations
- Complete daily start up checks on all machinery and report defects where necessary
- Support the site operation by emptying tip bins, moving materials when requested and assisting with refuelling and housekeeping.
- Ensure you have and wear the required personal protective equipment and it is in good order to carry out your duties.
- To follow all site and company procedures, conduction your duties safely not endanger themselves and others.
- Work with the team ensuring the site is maintained, clean and safe.
- The removal of any contamination from any area including the picking station.
- Assist and carry out site cleaning and housekeeping
- Monitor incoming wood loads and remove any contamination, such as paper, plastic, etc
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Effective communication skills with both colleagues and customers
- Experience is the use of radio to communicate
- Trained and proven experience in the use of Telehandler
